Port de La Mer Holiday Homes & Monthly Stays

Port de La Mer is a low-rise seafront community on the La Mer peninsula in Jumeirah, styled after a Mediterranean harbour town, and it is where you stay for the beach and the older coast in a quieter setting.

What Port de La Mer is

Port de La Mer is a residential community on reclaimed land along the Jumeirah coast, beside the La Mer beachfront. Its buildings are low-rise, in a Mediterranean style, set around a private marina and narrow streets that lead down to the water.

It feels very different from the tower districts further west. There is no skyline here: the buildings are a handful of floors high, the streets are designed for walking, and the sea is at the end of almost every view.

Next door, La Mer itself is a beachfront of sand, cafés and restaurants, and beyond it the older, low-rise neighbourhoods of Jumeirah run along the coast. City Walk and Downtown are inland, a short drive away.

Who it suits

It suits anyone who wants the beach and the sea without the towers. Couples and families looking for a calm, walkable base by the water will find it here more than almost anywhere else in central Dubai.

It suits visitors who want to be near the middle of the city. Port de La Mer is on the older Jumeirah coast, so Downtown, City Walk and the historic districts are closer than they are from the Marina or the Palm.

It suits longer stays, because the homes are residential apartments with full kitchens and laundry, in a community built for people who live there year round.

It suits less well anyone after nightlife on the doorstep. The community is quiet by design, and evenings out mean a short trip to La Mer next door or further into the city.

Getting around

Port de La Mer is not on the metro, and most people get around by taxi or ride-hailing car, which reach the community easily. The coastal road along Jumeirah and the routes inland to Downtown are close.

Within the community and along the La Mer beachfront, distances are short and everything is walkable, which is a large part of the appeal.

The airport, Downtown and the older districts around the creek are all reachable by road without crossing the whole city, which makes this one of the more central places to stay on the coast.

What the homes are like

Homes here are apartments in low-rise buildings, many with balconies or terraces looking over the marina, the sea or the community’s streets. The buildings are newer than most of Jumeirah, and the finish reflects it.

Most buildings have shared pools and gyms for residents. Being low-rise, the buildings feel more like a seaside town than a tower block, with fewer neighbours and less waiting for lifts.
