Meydan Holiday Homes & Monthly Stays, Dubai

Meydan is a newer residential area in Mohammed Bin Rashid City, named after the racecourse at its heart, and it puts you close to Downtown Dubai without the crowds.

What Meydan is

Meydan is an area of newer residential communities inland of Downtown Dubai and Business Bay, within the wider Mohammed Bin Rashid City. It takes its name from Meydan Racecourse, the home of horse racing in Dubai, whose grandstand is one of the area’s landmarks.

Around the racecourse, a series of communities has grown up: apartment buildings, townhouses and villas, much of it recently completed and some of it still being built. The result is an area that feels modern and spacious, with wide roads and open views, and in places, construction nearby.

Its main appeal is position. Meydan is close to Downtown and Business Bay by road, yet it is quieter and less dense than either, so you get the city centre within reach and somewhere calmer to come back to.

Who it suits

It suits anyone who wants to be near Downtown and Business Bay without staying in a tower district. The landmarks, the offices and the restaurants are a short drive, and the evenings are quieter.

It suits longer stays. The homes are residential and generally newer than in the older parts of the city, with full kitchens and laundry, and a month here feels settled rather than temporary.

It suits families who want modern space near the centre, and visitors coming for the racing season, when the racecourse is the reason for the trip.

It suits a beach holiday less well. The coast is a drive away, and if the sea is the point of the trip, a coastal district will serve you better.

Getting around

Meydan is not on the metro, so a car, taxis or ride-hailing are part of staying here. Al Khail Road runs close by, and the roads into Downtown and Business Bay are direct.

Taxis reach the communities without difficulty, and for most visitors that is the simplest way about. Within the communities, the newer layouts include walking paths and open space, though for half the year the heat limits how far anyone walks.

Downtown and Business Bay are short drives, and the airport and the older parts of the city are straightforward to reach by road.

What the homes are like

Meydan has a mix of apartments, townhouses and villas. The apartment buildings are mostly modern mid-rise and high-rise, many with open outlooks over the racecourse, the Downtown skyline or the greenery of the newer communities.

They are residential homes rather than hotel rooms: a full kitchen, laundry in the home and real living space. Buildings typically have a pool and a gym for residents, and guests in our homes use them as residents do.

Because the area is new, the finishes tend to be contemporary. What is free, and with which view, changes with the dates, so the best step is to put your dates in and see.

When to come

Dubai’s comfortable months run from about November to March. That is also the racing season at Meydan, so the area is at its liveliest and the weather is at its best for time outside.

June through September is very hot, and life moves indoors and into the pool. Rates fall to match, and for a longer stay where you are working or living rather than sightseeing, the summer is better value.

What staying with fäm Living is like

The homes we run in Meydan carry a holiday home licence from Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism and are registered on the Holiday Homes system. Without that licence, a short-term let in Dubai is not legal.

A member of our team in Dubai checks you in face to face, and each home is cleaned to the same standard between guests. If something goes wrong mid-stay, there is a local team to put it right.

Book directly and you pay the nightly rate and the cleaning fee, with no platform fee in the middle. The quote is for your exact dates, with the lower nightly rate that applies to a longer stay already included.
