Who this applies to

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this privacy policy. It describes the personal information we may collect from you, or that you may provide, on famliving.com and any related products and services, and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting and disclosing it.

This policy is an agreement between you and FAMCO VACATION HOMES RENTAL L.L.C, trading as fäm Living. By using the site you acknowledge that you have read and understood it.

What we collect

You can browse the site without telling us who you are. To enquire or book, we need some of the following:

• Contact details — name, email address and telephone number.
• Booking details — the property, your dates and the number of guests.
• Identification — passport details for each adult guest. Guests staying in licensed holiday homes in Dubai must be registered with the authorities, and that registration is made from your passport. We collect this because the law requires it, not for marketing.
• Payment details — handled by our payment provider. Under our terms we may charge the card used for a booking for outstanding amounts or damage.
• Messages you send us, including through the chat on this site.

What we do with it

• Take, confirm and service your booking.
• Register your stay with the authorities as required by law.
• Answer enquiries and provide support before, during and after a stay.
• Send booking confirmations, arrival details and other messages about a stay you have made.
• Operate and improve the website.

Who we share it with

We share information with service providers where it is necessary to deliver the service or to comply with the law, and we do not authorise them to use it for their own marketing.

• The relevant government authorities, for the guest registration the law requires.
• Our payment provider, to take payment.
• Our property management system, which holds your booking.
• For bookings where no security deposit is taken, Cardoo Cyprus Ltd acts as guarantor and receives your personal data for that purpose. The detail is set out in our Terms & Conditions, which you accept when you book.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, and for as long as the law requires us to — records of a stay, including the guest registration, are kept for the period Dubai's regulations set. After that it is deleted.

Your choices

• You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Some of it we are required to keep.
• You can opt out of marketing email at any time. Messages about a booking you have made will still be sent, because they are part of the service.
• You can accept or decline cookies in your browser settings. Declining some cookies may affect how the site works.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies to keep the site working and to understand how it is used. We use Google Analytics to measure how the site performs — which pages people read, and where a booking is abandoned — and it is set up to measure rather than to identify you: your IP address is shortened before it is stored, and we never send Google your name, email address, phone number or payment details. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, analytics cookies are switched off for you by default and your visit is counted without storing anything on your device. You can decline cookies in your browser settings anywhere in the world.

Security

We take organisational and technical measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss and misuse. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If a breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will take appropriate measures, including notifying you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.

Children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Where children are named on a booking, their details are provided by the adult making it.

Other sites

This site links to other websites, including the platforms our homes are listed on. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.

Changes

We may update this policy. The updated version takes effect when it is posted, and the date at the top of this page tells you when that was.
