Al Jadaf Holiday Homes & Monthly Stays, Dubai

Al Jadaf is a creekside district in the old heart of Dubai, between Oud Metha and the water, where a quieter residential stay sits close to both the historic city and the new one.

Where Al Jadaf is, and what it was

Al Jadaf sits on the bank of Dubai Creek, on the Bur Dubai side, next to Dubai Healthcare City and Oud Metha. It is one of the older parts of the city by name, and for a long time it was best known for the yards where wooden dhows were built and repaired along the water.

Some of that still survives, but most of the district today is newer: residential towers, hotel apartments and a cultural quarter along the creek front, including the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library. It has changed a great deal, and it is still changing.

For a visitor the appeal is position without the crowds. You are close to the old souks and the creek on one side and to Business Bay and Downtown on the other, in a district that is mostly people living and working rather than sightseeing.

Who it suits

It suits people with a reason to be in this part of the city. Anyone with appointments in Dubai Healthcare City, which is next door, and anyone working in the older business districts of Bur Dubai and Deira.

It suits longer stays well. The apartments are in residential buildings with full kitchens and laundry, the area is quiet in the evenings, and the airport is on the same side of the city rather than across it.

It suits visitors who would rather see the creek, the old trading quarters and the souks than the beach. Those are close from here, and much further from the coast.

It is a weaker choice for a beach holiday or a trip built around nightlife. Both are a drive away, and Al Jadaf is calm by design.

Getting around

Al Jadaf has a station on the metro’s Green Line, which runs through the older parts of the city and connects with the Red Line for the rest of Dubai. For a district this central that is a real advantage.

Taxis and ride-hailing are constant and inexpensive by most visitors’ standards, and the main roads across the creek are close by, so Deira, the airport, Business Bay and Downtown are all straightforward rides.

Within the district, walking is pleasant along the creek front in the cooler months and less so between the main roads. As in most of Dubai, the heat decides how far anyone walks for half the year.

What the apartments are like

Most homes in Al Jadaf are apartments in newer residential towers, many of them built in the last few years. Full kitchens, laundry in the apartment, and the building’s own pool and gym are the usual standard.

Some buildings look out over the creek, and from higher floors the skyline of Downtown and Business Bay is in view. Which homes have which outlook depends on the building and the floor.

What is free changes with the dates. The honest answer is to put your dates in and see what is actually available rather than rely on a description written months ago.

What staying with fäm Living is like

Each home is licensed with Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism and registered on the Holiday Homes system, which is what makes a short stay in a private apartment legitimate in Dubai.

Someone from our team meets you in person at check-in, the home is cleaned to the same standard before every stay, and if anything needs fixing there is somebody local to deal with it.

Booking with us directly means the nightly rate and the cleaning fee, without a platform’s service charge on top. The quote is for your actual dates, including the lower rate that applies on a longer stay.

Questions

Staying in Al Jadaf

Is Al Jadaf a good area to stay in Dubai?
It is a good choice if you want somewhere central and quiet, close to the creek, Dubai Healthcare City and the older parts of the city. It is less suited to a beach holiday, because the coast is a drive away.
Is there a metro station in Al Jadaf?
Yes. Al Jadaf is on the metro’s Green Line, which runs through the older parts of Dubai and connects with the Red Line for Downtown, the Marina and the airport.
Is Al Jadaf close to Dubai Healthcare City?
Yes, the two are neighbours, which is one reason people stay here for medical appointments or work at the hospitals and clinics there. A furnished apartment suits a stay of several weeks better than a hotel room.
Are fäm Living’s Al Jadaf homes licensed?
Yes. Every home is registered with Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism on the Holiday Homes system and operates under our licence as the operator.
Can I rent an apartment in Al Jadaf by the month?
Yes. These are furnished residential apartments with full kitchens and in-home laundry, and longer stays are priced differently from nightly ones. Add your dates and the price shown is for that stay.
