Madinat Jumeirah Living Holiday Homes, Dubai

Madinat Jumeirah Living is a newer residential community in Umm Suqeim, near the Burj Al Arab and the beach, built around landscaped gardens, and it is where you stay for a quiet base on the coast.

What Madinat Jumeirah Living is

Madinat Jumeirah Living is a residential community in Umm Suqeim, on the stretch of Dubai’s coast between the older Jumeirah neighbourhoods and Al Sufouh. Its buildings are mid-rise and set around landscaped gardens and walkways.

Its neighbours are some of the best known on the coast: the Burj Al Arab and the Madinat Jumeirah resort are close by, and the public beaches of Umm Suqeim are a short trip away.

The community is newer than most of what surrounds it, and it has a settled, residential feel. It is a place people live rather than a place people visit, which is exactly why it suits a quieter stay.

Who it suits

It suits families and couples who want calm, green space and the beach nearby. The gardens and walkways give children room to play, and the beach is close without the crowds of JBR or the Marina.

It suits longer stays particularly well. The apartments are residential homes with full kitchens and laundry, and the community is designed for everyday living rather than short visits.

It suits visitors who want to be between the two halves of the city. Umm Suqeim sits roughly halfway between Downtown and the Marina along the coast, so neither is far.

It suits less well anyone who wants restaurants and nightlife on foot. The community is quiet by design, and most evenings out mean a short drive.

Getting around

Most guests get around by taxi or ride-hailing car, which reach the community easily. The coastal road and Sheikh Zayed Road are both close, so getting to either end of the city is straightforward.

The Dubai Metro’s Red Line runs along Sheikh Zayed Road inland of the community. It is a short taxi ride rather than a walk, but it gives a direct line to Downtown, the Marina and the airport.

Inside the community, everything is walkable along the landscaped paths, and the nearby beaches are close enough that a car is useful rather than essential.

What the homes are like

Homes here are apartments in mid-rise buildings, many with balconies looking over the gardens, and from some, views toward the Burj Al Arab or the sea. The finish is modern, because the buildings are new.

Residents share pools, gyms and the community’s gardens. With fewer floors than the towers elsewhere on the coast, the buildings feel calmer, and the walk from the lift to the garden is short.
